Don’t have Inventor? It’s included when you purchase Autodesk HSM, however for your HSM trial, you can get a trial of Inventor. Before installing Inventor HSM, you need to have installed Inventor. Supported versions are 2015, 2016, or 2017. If you don’t already have Inventor installed, you can install a trial version from here: Download a 30 day trial before installing HSM »

Seamless Integration into Inventor
Autodesk HSM includes a full license of Inventor Professional, providing advanced CAD capabilities to aid in working with molds, tools and dies, simulation and FEA for design validation. With a truly integrated CAM solution for Inventor users, you can quickly get up to speed and become productive within minutes by using familiar tools and workflows. Seamless integration ensures full associativity between the design and toolpaths – design changes get instantly updated without any data loss.

AnyCAD with Autodesk Inventor is a CAD interoperability solution that removes or reduces the need to purchase and maintain multiple CAD systems for file exchange and support. AnyCAD supports most CAD file formats without the need for file translation, saving you valuable time and resources and avoiding costly errors. Keep your toolpaths up-to-date with notifications of design changes, and easily collaborate with all stakeholders, regardless of their 3D CAD tool.

Proven CAM Technology
Autodesk HSM includes second generation high-efficiency roughing, called Adaptive Clearing 2.0 technology, that helps you reduce valuable cycle time, decrease wear on tooling, and extend machine life. Autodesk HSM Premium is built on our next generation multi-core 64-bit CAM engine with support for distributed toolpath calculations, ensuring maximum performance. Even the Post Processor system is designed to get programs to the shop floor faster by generating CNC code at speeds of hundreds of thousands of lines per second.

High Quality Finished Parts
Autodesk HSM’s 5-axis Contour and 5-Axis Swarf multi-axis milling strategies and 5-axis-tilt support for 3D Contour help users leverage the latest in 5-axis machining center technology to produce more complex parts, reduce setups, and superior surface finish. Improved 3D simulation capabilities with richer visualization, including support for multi-axis parts, help users verify the machining process before CNC programs are run on the machine. Highly customizable post-processors and a powerful CNC editor further enable users to tailor their programs to their CNC machine.

Special features
Autodesk HSM CAM solutions include features like chamfering and engraving to complete your machining tasks. Probing functions assis when setting up your geometry. Features such as sloped based machining and tool holder collision avoidance round out a package of advanced functionality that provides the confidence to run unattended when necessary.

Distributed CAM
Autodesk HSM CAM solutions can use a Distributed CAM server that enables users to respond even faster to design changes, by automatically utilizing idle PCs on the local network to reduce toolpath calculation time. Distributed CAM is automatically used by Autodesk HSM when installed on selected PCs and requires no additional setup or interaction from the user.

Tool Library
Tool information can be specified directly using the Inventor tool library or imported from 3rd party tool databases. Production documents, including a tool list, are automatically generated and can be exported in a number of different formats including HTML, XML, Excel and Word documents.

Turning
Autodesk HSM features all the traditional turning toolpaths, including facing, roughing, grooving, threading, drilling and profiling. For drilling and hole making, choose between pre-programmed machining cycles and canned cycles, or use a combination of both. Inventor HSM supports programming twin-turret and twin-spindle lathes using all of the traditional turning operations. Mill/Turn operations are supported when combined with the 2D or 3D milling option.
